(Maximizing Student Achievement through Classroom Management (Secondary) P13-90-F09)
This online course will provide secondary school teachers with a variety of resources and strategies to help manage their classrooms. The focus will be on both effective prevention as well as intervention approaches. A well-managed classroom is one where students know what is expected of them, materials are stimulating and accessible, and teaching methods are appropriate to the students' learning styles and needs. The teachers’ ability to recognize, interpret and respond to the events that occur daily in their classrooms is indicative of successful classroom management. The most effective teachers actively organize their time, space, materials and students to create and maintain an environment that is consistent, motivating, and focused on student achievement.
